Unit f: Equilibrium |
|
|
Time for some honesty. When we write a chemical equation we often use a single direction arrow, showing that a reaction goes to completion and that is the end. However for MANY reactions, the reaction is reversible: products can from reactants just as reactants can form products.
In this unit we will discuss various situations and calculations that revolve around when the RATE of the forward reaction is equal to the RATE of the reverse reaction. This unit is one of the heaviest tested on the AP test, so PAY ATTENTION! |

Going for a five
For those students who are seeking a 5 on the AP exam, simply attending class will not be enough. You will need to do some work out side of class. This means watching some more lectures on your own time. The videos can be QUITE long, however the material in them is amazing. It was created by the goddess of chemistry, Rene McCormick, a teacher from Texas with stellar AP Chemistry exam pass rates who has also served on the text creation committee. I do not expect you to sit though them all at once, however you should watch a little each night. When I learned the material I would do 10 to 15 minute segments, which is what I recommend.
