Unit B: Stoichiometry

In this unit we focus heavily on the math behind chemistry.  The big things to remember is:  matter, and therefor mass, can not be created or destroyed; Chemical reactions are simply rearrangements of the atoms in a substance; and Don't cry, it will be OK.

Every year this is the unit that students cry out from the pit: "COACH, THIS IS KILLING ME!!!"
Well my little ones, don't worry it won't actually kill you... today.

Going for a five?

For those students who are seeking a 5 on the AP exam, simply attending class will not be enough.  You will need to do some work out side of class.  This means watching some more lectures on your own time.  The videos can be QUITE long, however the material in them is amazing.  It was created by the goddess of chemistry, Rene McCormick, a teacher from Texas with stellar AP Chemistry exam pass rates who has also served on the text creation committee.  I do not expect you to sit though them all at once, however you should watch a little each night.  When I learned the material I would do 10 to 15 minute segments, which is what I recommend.
